  • Exploring new areas on foot

People who share a common interest in travelling off the standard tourist route and exploring new areas on foot. They include Europeans, Americans and people from other countries that speak English as all of our trips is guided by English speaking gudes. Some are experienced walkers, some first-timers. Some come alone, some with a partner, some with a group of friends. They can be of any age but all are active, well educated, well travelled people who enjoy meeting other like-minded walkers and walking with knowledgeable guides. And all enjoy the convivial atmosphere of an interesting group.

    Seven-day experience

Come with a friend or come alone – you’ll soon make friends. Departing mothly from April to October, our walk is a seven-day experience. Led by well-informed guides, small groups of no more than fifteen walkers explore both the fascinating natural environment and the rich diversity of the historical cities. Our daily distances will range between 6 to 12 miles, the emphasis will be upon walking at one's own pace - no time schedules, no concern about keeping up with anyone.

The mood and tone of the entire experience is leisurely and as low-key and laid back as possible. Each of our walks has been chosen with a single objective in mind: to provide a never-to-be-forgotten experience in an area of extraordinary natural beauty.

  • Experience a quality Croatian accommodated walking holiday.

Be guided through historical towns, medieval fortifications, along secluded beaches or across the ridges of a majestic mountain range. Whether you are traversing the famous Ston Walls, exploring a castle in Dubrovnik Old town, or experiencing remote wilderness in the outback, you will be pampered at the end of the day in comfortable accommodation. Whether you call it walking, hiking, rambling, tramping, trekking or bushwalking, you’ll love what we have to offer you. At night we stay in comfortable accommodations and enjoy good food and convivial company.

    Walk-Croatia trip

Offers the “must see” places and also off-the-beaten track to places that few people have heard of and even fewer have visited. Let us share these special gems with you – you’ll enjoy a unique, varied, memorable and fun walking holiday. Go with Walk-Croatia, a leading walking tour operator offering great walks of Croatia.

  • Comfortable accommodation

We choose comfortable accommodations in quiet locations and look for quality beds (usually queen sized), ensuite bathrooms, good food and welcoming hosts. Typical accommodation includes boutique inns, guesthouses or small hotels. We pride ourselves on providing great food and most meals are included in the holiday package. For more info about meals check out our itinerary page.

    Clement weather

Assuming that you are blessed with clement weather, you should typically be able to walk in a T-shirt and shorts on most holidays that operate between April and October, although we strongly recommend that you take warmer clothes with you just in case. You may prefer to walk in a light-weight pair of long trousers and long-sleeved shirt for added protection from the sun. A T-shirt and shorts should again be sufficient for many holiday destinations, particularly the coastal regions of Dubrovnik and Adriatic islands, however, you will find that continental regions such as the Montenegro and Mostar are comparatively cooler.

    Local resources

We have our local staff, suppliers and resources in the areas we visit. We use local guides so you get an insider's view and perspective and we use local resources - from transport to family run or small, local guest houses rather than international chains providing you with a truly authentic experience. Understanding, awareness & cultural appreciation via education: our small groups foster greater interaction with local people and cultures, enabling you to learn, experience and understand local people's traditions, cultures and rituals - and they yours - making a positive contribution towards conserving global diversity.

Walk-Croatia Trip Summary

Once again, year after year, we are offering this 8-day trip to Croatia’s dramatically beautiful Dalmatian Coast, where stark, white, karst mountains plunge down to a clear blue Adriatic sea. The coastline, indented by picturesque harbors, laced with sanded beaches, and cloaked with intriguing offshore islands, is as rich in history and nature beauty as any corner of Europe.

Our walks will take us to the deep canyons of the Montenegro and Mostar, through the olive groves, vineyards, and old, oak forest of Korcula Island, along the inland lakes of Mljet Island’s National Park, and up the steep escarpments of Dubrovnik. Our evenings will be spent dining to the sound of surf and rustling palms. We will visit the exquisite island town of Kotor with its wonderful Romanesque and Renaissance architecture, stroll the narrow, marbled streets of medieval Korcula Town, but we will start our trip with a visit to the walled city of Dubrovnik, the “pearl of the Adriatic.”

Our trip begins with a transfer pick up at Dubrovnik Airport where you will be met by our representative. After transferring to our villa in Mlini, about a 15-minute drive away Dubrovnik Old town, we will have time to get settled into our rooms before meeting in the hotel lobby at 3:00pm for a walking tour of this part of the Dubrovnik Riviera.

Individual airport transfers, all accommodations, all breakfasts, 4 dinners, transportation as outlined in itinerary, National Park entrance fees, guided walking tours of Dubrovnik, Mljet, Korcula, Montenegro, Mostar, Ston and Pelješac.

Who would like this trip?

The Dalmatian Coast is renowned for its exquisite natural and architectural beauty and, despite the increase of travel to this corner of Europe, it remains relatively unspoiled compared to other Mediterranean destinations. This is a wonderful trip for those who enjoy a balance between being active and spending time in some of the areas more beautiful and historically significant sites. The inviting mildness of Dalmatia’s mid-September climate also provides a welcome extension of summer. trip you’d like to make.

Why Families Love to Walk Croatia

Our trip balances quality time together and apart, with welcome opportunities for everyone to take a break and recharge—usually impossible on a family vacation. As a parent, it's wonderful to get a break from being the decision maker or mediator and just relax!

We bring families closer together through exciting travel experiences and stimulating walking adventures that let you interact in ways you'd never encounter back home. As young people leave behind TV and texting for natural wonders and cultural diversity, it builds their self-assurance and piques their curiosity about things beyond their usual life.

Two experienced trip leaders take care of all the day-to-day logistics. They're knowledgeable and enthusiastic motivators for your kids, interact with excitement and are inspiring role models. They'll make sure your gang has the best vacation ever.

A dedicated kid coordinator orchestrates activities for the entire family, plus an hour or two per day of kids-only fun—often focused on local culture or the natural environment.

You will get plenty of fresh air and outdoor activity together while discovering a whole new part of the world—and a whole new side of yourselves. MULTI-VEHICLE SUPPORT because we know that families need extra support. We use two or three minivans plus a trailer for luggage and supplies..
